120 Lovers and Counting...

A celebration of the Bard’s most famous lyrics, as set by composers from Arne to Verdi, Sondheim to Dankworth. Featuring (amongst others) a tempestuous bee, three weird sisters, a duplicate love letter, low flying fairies and a new song by Hatstand’s own Composer in Residence, featuring the most set Shakespeare lyric of all time!

Congratulations on a really good programme. Many commented on how much work you had put into the research and what fun it all was.

Season’s Greetings

A festive blend of opera, oratorio and song, featuring favourites such as Handel’s Messiah and Puccini’s La Bohème, as well as operatic pantomimes, Christmas song and the occasional carol.

Guaranteed to get you in the Christmas spirit!

Thanks to all the team for their invaluable contribution to the success of our festive programme. The guest feedback has been excellent.

Opera Through the Looking Glass

"Curiouser and curiouser" said Alice.

"Hatstand follow the course of my adventures through the famous Lewis Carroll stories, linking opera to the peppery Cook and the tempestous Red Queen. Scenes, songs and arias by famous composers such as Bizet, Mozart, Rossini, Offenbach and Gilbert & Sullivan - such rivals for a Mock Turtle's Song!"

Humour in abundance throughout... a witty visual focus... light and amusing, and thoroughly enjoyed by the audience.

Songs from Classic Musicals

The songs that make the heart sing and the hopes soar, and all without the aid of a microphone!

Songs from favourite musicals from the 1930’s onwards, featuring cowboys on the plains, magical pianos in the park, social-climbing Cockneys, elusive suitors and many more.

Everyone in the audience - and I do mean everyone - was thrilled and delighted by the performance - the humour, the superb singing, the professional presentation, every part of the show.
